"I DON'T KNOW WHY WE HANG ON TO SOMETHING WE'R BETTER OFF LETTING GO, IT'S LIKE WE'RE AFRAID TO LOSE SOMETHING WE REALLY DON'T HAVE. SOME OF SAY, WE'D RATHER HAVE SOMETHING THAN NOTHING AT ALL...BUT THE TRUTH IS....TO HAVE SOMETHING HALFWAY IS *HARDER* THAN HAVING NOTHING AT ALL!

I always told him not to drink and drive,
Cause it could be the last day hes alive
I wish he would have listened,
he made one wrong mistake,
But one mistake is all it takes,
I wish he would not have made that one,
because his life is done,
now the best daddy ever is gone.

I Love you Daddy

This piece is about my father. He is a alchoholic and thinks he is invincible. He has been into many car accidents due to being under the influnce so many it is hard to keep track of exactly how many. This was a hard poem to write and is still hard to think about. My father is still alive but this is the way he is most likely to pass. I had him read it and he started crying due to the fact that I would base a piece of my work on him and it be a poem like this. He is now a recovering alchoholic and doing good with his life after reading this. He doesnt want this to be sereal.
