i'm unsure..that's a bad thing
uh oh. i'm stuck.
my life long love, jazz
or
the new, hip and cool alternative rock?
one i can grasp in my fingers
the other is out of reach but
i feel like i can almost reach
just a little more streching
one is the right choice
the other may be wrong
i love them both
in
very
different
ways
both can but me in a great mood
i'm sure both can hurt
but one with greater e a s e
both tempt me with their smooth sounds
the trumpet, trombone, and sax play along with my heart
as they always have
but guitars and funky keys charm me in new way
to take the road that strays from the path i've been taking all along?
to give up?
but the smooth, seductive notes of jazz still bring a smile to my face
while the alternative is just as playful
i will always love jazz
but
maybe
it's time.
to
move on.
to
have a new favorite.
to
stop.
cease holding onto something that
just
taunts.
