To strike out on his own, risk everything
Or go home
Wavering, deciding, wavering, decid—
Retreat.
Does that make him weak?
Fear, doubt, the unknown
Crept in for just a few seconds
Took over his mind
And the moment
When he decided
Did that make him human?
We can’t rightly lay blame for
No one can know
How they will perform
In the moment of truth
And if they will be left to ask
Does that make me weak?
