She perched, unmoving
On the tides of time

Her faith, dwindling
Her confidence, faltering

Her mask fading, fading, fading
Into the depths of the unknown

Should she leap
Defy destiny and carve her own path

Should she stay
On the bleak and unchanging path
Carved by others ruling her life

She cast one last glance
Behind her
And jumped
