Because they remind her of herself
She has an empty room for a heart and
Blank windows for eyes.

There's a lot to be said for the
Beauty of cracked floorboards and shattered glass
Reflecting sunlight streaming through broken shutters
Catching dust particles and memories
And the knowledge that some day someone will pick up the pieces.
