I want to care
About college.
My future.
But I can’t make myself care,
Enough to do anything at all.
Don’t get me wrong
I care about what is happening in the world
But what can I do?
I care for my family
But what do I get back for that?
I want to try.
But what difference will it make?
I will still be me at the end of the day
Wrong
Not worthy
Of scholarships
Of acceptance.
I care for my friends.
But will they ever care about me?
I want to care
For what the future holds for me.
But all I can think
Is it will never work out for the good
For me at least.
But now
As my future is becoming
What I do in the present
I worry
Because I just don’t care.
