I don’t want to be the same old story
I don’t want to be the same old line
I’m not going to be the same statistic
Played out one more time
I’m not going to grow up
To be a replica of the past
I’m not going to live my life
Watching nothing last
I’m going to go on and find something
And make a difference in the world
I’m not going to be another statistic
I won’t end up another pregnant teenage girl
I won’t end up another drunk driver
I won’t end up another overdose case
I won’t end up with three kids, no job, and no money
Another puzzle piece without a place
I’m not going to end up the divorcee
I’m not going to end up the tragic tale
I’m not going to end up another drop out
I’m not going to end up as another to fail
Slowly the world is changing
And this is what people have become
But I’m not going to be another statistic
Even if I’m the only one.
