Just because I’m black,
Doesn’t mean you can go on and on about
How ghetto something is.

Just because I’m black,
Means we like the same music,
NO, it doesn’t.

Just because I’m black,
Doesn’t mean you and I
Have a secret handshake.

Just because I’m black,
Means you and I are related,
And I know everything you’re going through
NO, it doesn’t.

Just because I am black,
DOES NOT give you the right
To come up to my face and use the
N word in every other sentence.

Just because you WANT to be black,
Doesn’t make you MY black.

The author's comments:
What inspired me to write this poem is i was just sick and tired of this white boy in my class always saying he was being discriminated against because he was black. So, i wrote it to kind of let out my frustration toward him. What i hope people will get from my poem is stick to your own race, if your white don't be acting like your black and always use the N word, be proud of your race and yourself because you can't change them. Why spend all your time wishing you were something your not. JUST BE YOU
