Broken Lullaby

Sweet soft music
floats to my ears
as the sun
breaks through
the dark mellow sky
and I open my eyes
to the light
another day in this town
it will be the death of me
nothing here to satisfy
the longing of you
play that sad music
I love so well
over and over in my mind
keeping my soul alive
bringing me comfort
in this hollow earth
no smiles here today
no laughter, no hugs
just a soft lullaby
in the darkness
