If I Jumped Off A Roof

If I jumped off a roof right now,
Would I fly?
Or would I just plunder to the ground,
Squashed and disfigured,
Unwanted and unused
If I jumped off the roof right now,
Would I land in a bed of roses?
And be caressed by gentle, fleeting fingers,
And held tightly by the numbing aroma,
That clings to all sweet roses,
That are really just weeds in disguised
If I jumped off a roof right now,
Would I fall into a deep slumber?
Succumbing to my petty desires
And trifle urgencies
That commit my careless life to temporary infatuations
If I jumped off a roof right now,
Would I dissolve into the wet air?
Where raindrops whisper to me secrets
As I play between them
And my imperfections are cleansed and missed by me
If I jumped off a roof right now,
Would your loving arms catch me?
Or were those charming words,
My remedies,
Just dreams inside a dream?
And I won’t really fall into your heart
And we won’t really evaporate together as one
So, if I really did jump off this roof right now,
That’d be all.
I’d just be done.
