The distant Calling.

June of 2002,
I saw you lying in a coffin
and without a moan you lie there peacefully
The distant flash of a shooting star
The recent call of the crow.
Holding your hand tight
I could only wish you were here,
Only for a minute
Up above the clouds you lie
waiting for a peaceful fly
A picture of you flies away
and all that is left is
A gap in the cement.

This piece was written about my grandmother who died in 2002. It was such a tramatic experience to me. I wrote this poem about a year ago, and everyone I read it to loves it and says I should enter it so I have.
