Contradiction

My heart's shattering into a million pieces
These fractures wont stop until this storm seises
It's still brewing in my brain's creases
The thought of you and me together
Floating alone to life's tune like a feather
But now I'm the one left to suffer
Tick tock, brick break, this is the sound of a heart ache
I am the broken fixer
An unloved lover
A helpless helper
I'm just a simple man caught in a complex situation
Present me with a problem and I'll solve it
Ask for attention and you know I'll give it
I'm always lending a hand
But still alone is how I stand
Tick tock, brick break, this is the sound of a heart ache
I've got my internal workings
Missing a few parts here and there
As if I care
But still it's hard to bare
All these rips and tares
My life's a master piece put through the shredder
Tick tock, brick break, this is the sound of a heart ache
Giving and giving
Hoping and hoping
For the chance to show my soul to someone
Maybe even just a dance in the midnight sun
To have connection, and not just a one way intersection
I don't want perfection
I just want some form of affection
Tick tock, brick break, this is the sound of a heart ache
So just give me an opportunity
I'm tired of being left in obscurity
I want to have a similarity
That I can be proud of
But I'm all wrapped in this contradiction known as love
