The heart of them-
The nerve of them-
A scarecrow.
Shielding from the crows that flutter,
Coming closer-
Nearer-
Haunting in their ways,
Causing great pain,
As my crows do.
Always present,
Always awake,
My scarecrows keep my heart warm and safe,
Protection,
Love,
Thank you.

I thought about what meant most to me, and I realized it was my parents and my friends. This poem is written for a select few of my friends and both my parents.
