Have You Ever Wished
Have you ever wished upon a penny,
I have, I wished there was no hunger.
Have you ever wished upon a shooting star?
I have, I wished there was no hate.
Have you ever wished upon a birthday cake?
I have, I wished there was no greed.
Have you ever wished upon a dandelion?
I have, I wished there was sadness.
Have you ever wished upon a wishbone?
I have, I wished there was no war.
Have you ever wished that all your wishes would come true?
I have, and then one day I looked into the heavens and my eyes were opened.
I wished there was no hunger,
and there wasn't, only fullness.
I wished there was no hate,
and there wasn't, only love.
I wished there was no greed
and there wasn't, only selflessness.
I wished there was no sadness
and there wasn't, only joy.
I wished there was no war
and there wasn't, only peace.
For I had seen the Kingdom of God.
