As I open my eyes I see the world
I can’t help but wonder what’s to come
Will our leaders be able to unfurl
This mess that has left us so numb

As people we need to love and care
But for all of those who fight us
We need to unite and make them aware
That together we are still a nation of trust

We will strive for peace in our future
Believe and cherish this beautiful land
Stay true to America and our culture
While showing the world we are still in command

With the amount of people struggling these days with unemployment, war and belief in our government I thought of putting in words what I feel
