Secret Lovers
You look at him
He looks at you
You wonder what he’s thinking
Does he really care?
Would he actually go for me, if?
You look down
He looks away
You start to wonder yourself
Is it like or is it love?
Or is it all a game?
You doodle on your notes
He taps his pencil on his desk
You contemplate
A game of cat and mouse
A game of pleasure
You stare at the teacher
He stares at the ceiling
You ponder pros and cons
The pro being you and him together
The con being the possibility of getting caught
You look at him
He looks at you
And you both know what one another has been thinking
About the long nights
And the forbidden farewells
You smile at him
He puts a finger to his lips
As if to say he wants you
Sadly, only in secret
On this rare occasion
You bite your lip
He flicks his tongue
You can’t wait
For the nights of nights
For the fantasy to come alive
You gather your things
He does the same
Thinking of only tonight
The bell has rung
And you walk out of the classroom to be met with a kiss from your waiting boyfriend
You look at her
She looks at you
You wonder what she’s thinking
Does she know you actually care for her?
That you would probably go for her, if not?
You look away
She looks down
You start to wonder yourself
Is it like or love?
Or just a meaningless get-together?
You tap your pencil on your desk
She doodles in her notebook
You contemplate
A meeting of one person and another
A meeting of pleasure
You stare at the ceiling
She stares at the teacher
You think of the goods and the bads
The good being you and her together
The bad being the possibility they might find out
You look at her
She looks at you
And you both know what one another has been thinking
About the long nights
And the forbidden farewells
You put your finger to your lips
She smiles at you
As if to say yes
Sadly, only for tonight
On this rare occasion
You flick your tongue
She bites her lip
You can’t wait
For the nights of nights
For the fantasy to live again
You gather your things
She does the same
Thinking of only tonight
The bell has rung
And you walk out of the classroom to be met with a pile of books to be carried by your waiting girlfriend
