Hospice

Platinum-to-Black, and back again
hair-wise, brain-wise, i-really-can’t-go-through-with-this-wise
composition-journal-wise; 80 pages front and back
but twice as much filled up
like the mirror, Model-wise –
“IDEALly, introspection is more important than making friends here.” –
wouldn’t want to make them anyway,
they breath like campfire smoke and anger
wouldn’t dare to scale up viscera-wise
and
probably
(surely)
are not true,
to fade into what was left.
plus, they’re stupid, loud, unblemished youths, guts-wise-courage-wise
or Not
and if Not
they Almost certainly won’t make it through next time
hospice-wise

The author's comments:
Dedicated to one of my great friends. Teenage eating-disorder/treatment stories are kind of ubiquitious but it was really nice for me to write this to express my concern and empathy.
