please come back home

as i lay awake at night
i think about all you have said to me
all the encouagments
and all the praise you gave me

yet when i really think about it
it all sounds a bit off

all the smiles you gave
and all the talks we had
never seemed as sincere
as it did when you were here

i find myself by the phone
waiting for your call
feeling pathetic
for all the excuses i give
when you don't come home

i hide the pain deep inside
when i think about
how far you drifted from my side
please come back home
to prove me wrong

why'd you go
it seems like forever
since you've been gone
please come back home

I have a story which I can relate to this poem. I wish he would come home too.
