I'll whisper in your ear
and tell you my secret
I'll whisper in your ear
And hope to God you keep it
That woman there is crying so
she's weeping for her love
His hand has struck her pretty face
like breaking the wings of a dove
The bruises, they were all from him
As he hid in mortal sin
she was left in his wake
her future's looking grim

I'll whisper in your ear
and tell you my secret
I'll whisper in your ear
and hope to God you keep it
That little boy is so afraid
of the woman he calls Mom
he knows that with the day
his chance at life will be gone
He trembles in that corner
trying to find some cover
she'll find him by morning's light
his body will smell of her

I'll whisper in your ear
and tell you my secret
I'll whisper in your ear
and hope to God you keep it
That man there on that cross
Is punished for their sin
For the lover for the mom
So life they could have again
He's up there bleeding, suffering
for something he'd never do
He's also up there dying
Just for me and you
I'll whisper in your ear
and tell you my secret
I'll whisper in your ear
and hope to God you keep it

this one came from a picture of two angels, one whispering in the other's ear
