The Dreaded Day
We stand eye to eye,
Waiting for one to say a word,
Should we try?
Or should we go unheard?
Thoughts become frantic,
Words of blasphemy begin to spill,
Our hearts start to panic,
Feelings begin to chill.
Blood runs cold,
Hatred has set in,
Feelings were left untold,
A new life will begin.
We go our separate ways,
All memories have been crushed,
We focus on new days,
Our hearts are now hushed.
The memories return,
Our hearts crumble from the pain,
For our hearts begin to yearn,
Love and trust we must attain.
Our lives became catastrophes,
On the dreaded day,
Our hearts were in complete atrophy,
But now you’re here to stay.
