Ode to my Field Hockey Stick

You grass stained stick
All beat upand injured
You’re taped with blue
And smothered with wonder
If I’ll make it through with you
Till the end of the game
Through all types of weather
Doesn’t make it the same
The rain though I like
On an early fall day
You’re all muddy in all places
It’s the best time to play
Still grass stained all over
You hit the ball
I feel bad, it must hurt
But it probably won’t last
Till the game is over
