Inferno

Sparks dance in this eternal twilight
lit by simple brushes against our skin
butterflies fly toward our light
they rest in the pits of our stomachs
content to dance amidst the inferno
and burn their wings in this passion
I'm the fire and you're the flame
together we are one in the same
forever lit, becoming the sun
in the twilight, we are alone
together we breathe ragged breaths
hearts thump eratically
caged in our chests
begging to be scorched
I'm the fire and you're the flame
