Perhaps it's impossible to wear an identity without becoming what you pretend to be
-Orson Scott Card

glamour and vanity
blacked out mirrors
the only way to keep sanity
keeping out the horrors
it's all about show
the contour of one's face
just look and you'll know
you only need a taste
to discern how they wary
and what they hold
with the weight they carry
their shoulders collapse and hearts turn cold
don't ponder what they contemplate
their minds are too convolute
these thoughts they wish to eliminate
their state of mind you may dispute
is something to evade
you never know when they'll break
take a look as they fade
you can't save them for your sake
