The Unforgiving Past

I gaze behind my shoulder
Looking at my past
The past that haunts me to this day
I replay the scenarios in my head
Thinking of what has been
And sadly what could have been
Him and I sitting in silence
Watching the world slowly turn on
The little time felt so long
It's all my fault
Always has been
Always will be
I sit and weep
All those memories I have to keep
I gaze behind my shoulder
Looking at my past
The past that haunts me to this day
The past that will forever last
