I Am

I am from
Exploring the cove in Flaming Gorge
The secen of my dad’s cologne
My little brother giggling
Eating carrot cake in ski lodges
The deep water while i’m waiting to wake board.

I am from Christmas and Hannukah celebrations
The clanging of my dog’s collar
Roasting marshmallows around the firepit
The black space in the sagebrush
Walking downstairs late at night.

I am
My grandmother’s coffee cake
Jam sessions in the basement
Staying up late watching comedies
The creek across the street
Wrestling matches in the living room.
