A Diamond In the Rain

I think of a girl who loved to dance in the rain.
Treading on toes was nver an issue.
Sprinting down the sidewalk,
She would dance alone.
Racing Mother Nature,
And losing.
Enjoying the sensation. Dancing.

We would watch her dance,
The water fitting to her every curve.

I still think of her that way, young, innocent.
Eyes open to the beauty surrounding her.
A diamond amoung the raindrops.
A smile among the tears.
Only emerging when the sky is gray,
To meet with the rain.

The first line from "Earthworms" by Roland Flint inspired my first line and I just worked from there.
