I think and thank
They say nothing lasts forever,
Forever they will be wrong.

I sit and think and thank.

I sit and think and thank the tender times you consoled me.
Bearing my stupidity, my stubbornness, my impatience.

I sit and thank:
Your patience,
Your attitude,
Your teachings.

To think,
To thank.

To lessons when my feet were hovering above ground.
To straightening me up when I was down.
You dusted my face when my head hit the sand:
You taught me to stand.

To think nothing lasts forever, mama.
To thank forever they will be wrong.
