Running Away for Good

Right then I knew what had to be done.
I knew that I had to gather my things and run.
Flee fast and run away, before the hand comes down on me.
My mothers daughter I will never again be.
What you see is real, this is how I really feel.
Tears endlessly running down my face and to the ground.
My heart no longer makes a sound. It is dead, just like me.
I'm on my way to heaven.
On my way to being free.
I can no longer feel her blows to my head.
No longer experience the throbbing pain in my heart.
Please, world, my spirit will now part.
Float on free, glide high on your way.

I wrote this poem late one night. My mom and I have gotten in another fight. Of course, this was written a while back. I don't feel like this anymore and my mom and I get along great.
