The Window

I stare out the rainy window
Through the downy fog.
It always rains, it never suns,
And the snow is like a grog.

I breathe on the window,
My breath a fiery blast.
I stand and think just for a wink
How long it will last.
I probably shouldn’t waste it,
‘Cause it could be my last.

I sleep against the window,
Shutting out the life,
I know it waits for me outside,
Because it’s filled with strife.

I bust out the window,
And meet the angry world,
Yes, I am ignoring you,
Because it’s what I can afford.

Why am I ignoring you?
You want to ask me why?
If I don’t go on ignoring you,
Then you are going to cry, and die.
