Who would have known a day like this would come
The disastrous event that made a lifetime change
Poverty spreading as quickly as a virus
Who would have known a time like this would come so quick!
With a crack and a thud the ground splits apart
The debris covers the body like a mummy preserved
Hidden in the darkness of night;
languish too much to be able to lift a bone
The cry for help surrounding you like a swarm of bees
The rattling parents that kept lifting their children off the floor
The steady silence against the clock
The feeling you have of being all alone
All around me money is pouring in from all states like a rainfall
Sometimes that’s just not enough
A miracle is what we pray for like a predator pouncing on its prey
And I hope it comes just as fast as a cheetah can run.
