A Trip to the Palm Tree
Tall, and vigorous.
Light appears behind, yet no so much in front of.
Live green trickles to a crisp brown.
Patterns spiral down.
Standing adjacent, you feel minimized.
“Hey we’re not in a tropical climate”
So what.
When big blue and radiant yellow-orange show behind, this is marvelous to mine eyes.
Security feels my soul, though dangers not totally shielded.
The green cushion beneath pulls me down.
Gravity.
Back to the earth, eyes in the clouds, gazing.
Dazed, in a trance.
I restore.
How amazing that tall beauty of nature is.
