Let Me Go
Let Me Go
You promised you quit, and made me believe,
You actually cared, and never would leave,
Friends called me foolish, my parents said no,
I wished to hold tight, but had to let go.
You dragged me along, changed me for the worst,
It all seemed like innocent games at first,
But my joy turned into an endless fight,
My house was in uproar, night after night.
Why would you care, all you wanted was fun,
I was unhappy, so you chose to run,
You fled from my life to a place far away,
Things seemed so hard when you chose not to stay.
Days rolled by slowly, and I stayed upset,
I was so sure I would never forget,
But days turned to months, and months into years
With time passing by, I ran out of tears.
I finally chose to let go of us,
No longer were you the one I could trust,
Now I am here and am letting you know,
How thankful I am, that you let me go.
