Sole Mates

We were insuperable from the start, sole mates from first glance
Nothing could tare us apart, together forever you said
But then came that incident last summer, and all was broken
We were both devastated and hurt
You scarred me for life
I left you for good, or so I said
Maybe I over reacted? Didn’t think things through before I acted
But now you’re back in my life
Forgiveness form both, we were wrong
You proposed and I accepted
Together forever till death due us part
