Swimming In The Air
When I was young,
I'd swim in the air
every night.
I don't know what happened,
but now I'm floored,
gravity has tamed me,
and the chains on my imagination
tighten every year.
I don't know what happened,
but I used to swim in the air
every night.
I would wade,
and kick my legs,
so as not to touch the ground.
I knew something bad would happen
If I were to hit it.
Well now I've done it, I've hit the floor,
and I'm stuck.
I don't swim through the air,
or fly through my youth anymore.
My mind has been gravitated,
and all I have left are memories.
