"We all can't be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the sides and clap as they go by." "In the end, they're just more words."

It could stretch on forever,
this moment,
like the horizon line
just before sunset.
It could weigh tons,
this moment,
with new, strange emotions,
young and naive.
It could be so sweet,
this moment,
like a teaspoon of honey,
all gooey and good.
It could have promise,
this moment.
If only it were real
and not a fantasy
caressed by my mind.
This moment
of you and me.

I wrote this because so many times I've imagined something totally awesome happening to me in a dream or just out of the blue, something that would never happen no matter how hard I imagined.
