Silver utensil, silver instrument
that whistles when the winds slip through the four prongs
as the fork is set down on the grass—
for a picnic.
Abandoned fork, tarnished fork
that cries when the rains
slip through the four prongs
as the fork is buried under the grass—
for its funeral.
