My Promise to You
I know how you feel, I've been there before.
I know what it's like when your heart is broken and sore.
I used to think that no one cared about me because I was different from everyone else.
But now I know I was just feeling sorry for myself.
There's no shame in it becsuse it's something we all do.
You just can't let it get the best of you.
You won't get anywhere pretending to be something you're not.
That's a lesson that could never be taught.
Just trust in yourself and follow your heart.
Pay no mind to the fights that others try to start.
There are people who will accept you for who you are.
Just take my advice, you won't need to look far.
Even in total darkness there is always light.
Use your heart to see it, not your sight.
That light isn't always easy to find.
But if you ever need me I'll be two steps behind.
I'll always be here for you, no matter what you're going through.
This is my promise to you and it's a promise that will always stand true.
