In this endless Winter,

Snow lays here,
Along the ground,
Footsteps covered,
Signs of life, scarce.
Everyone seeks refuge...

In this endless Winter,

Ice splinters the skin,
Of those outside,
Enduring the winds,
Fighting their struggle.
They look for the sun...

In this endless Winter,

Pain is frozen inside,
Protected from Joy,
Trapped by Memories,
That fall like snowflakes.
The light cannot be seen...

In this endless Winter,

The World is covered,
Permafrost has formed,
And wars will not end,
Peace... where are you?
A White Flag nowhere in sight...

In this endless Winter,

Spring enters every wish,
A promise of Thawing,
Praying for a brilliant new Life,
A river to carry away agony.
The current is frozen...

In this endless Winter,

We Hope,
We Search,
We Love,
We Hurt.
We Survive.

The author's comments:
A lot of tragedies have struck my school between the end of last year and this year. It's been difficult for all of us, but we've been able to get through an "endless winter" and work toward a spring that will surely come, no matter how far away it is.
