I called you today
You didn’t answer the phone
I heard your chirpy recording, a reminder
Life goes on for you
You called me today
I heard your hurried recording, a reminder
Life goes on for me
You asked
Did I have something I wanted to talk about
Yes, always
You asked was it important
I don’t know
Is how much I miss you tonight important
To you
I sent you a text message to say
I got your call
I know you won’t respond till tomorrow
If at all
So I sent another message
Three simple words
So hard to type
And I sat up all night
Waiting
For a response.
