"Am I or the others crazy?"

-Albert Einstein

In the valley of war, where guns still cry;
The river runs red,
And flows on by;
It soaks all the roads,
Goes down every street;
It drenches the shoes, beneath the living’s feet.

In the valley of war, where joy doesn't bloom;
There's never to win,
Only to lose;
How much can you lose?
The list never ends;
You may lose your life, a lover,
Or a friend.

The guilt of the lost, that stays in the heart
Of those who survived
Will tear them apart;
But we must live on,
For their sake and ours,
Their love left behind
Will strengthen us by the hour.

So no matter what grief
The future holds in store,
For them, we’ll survive
This valley of war.

After discussing Veterans' Day with my teacher, I decided to write this poem in honor of my Pa who recently passed away. He fought in World War II.

Remember that your account was set up by me. It won't be attached to your StrawberryAutimn account because you have another through me. Let's look at it when we get back to school on Monday.

Is there a way for me to connect this poem to my account? Right now it doesn't show up as my work in my account. Also, how do people vote? I can't find a help item for that?

Autumn can upload her artwork to this site! If you look at the top of the screen, you will see a link to that. She just has to log in and do it! Tell her to come see me at school if she needs help with that! I have a scanner in my office!

Autumn is an artist in more ways than one. I wish they would let her attach her artwork to her poem. I'm not sure why they chose to attach that particular photo to her poem...it almost distracts your attention from the beautiful sentiment in her work. Bravo, Baby Girl! You are the BEST!!!
