In Costa Rica
In Costa Rica
everything seems to be at peace.
Everything is inviting.
With palm trees always in view,
crabs scuttling along the sandy beach,
the ocean and sun, warm and welcoming,
nature is like your neighbor.
The smell of the ocean salt
can be tasted in the air.
Its taste is unique, a tangy sensation.
Waves crash softly on the beach.
The blue ocean, so powerful, is calm today.
A gull cries overhead, and howler monkeys bellow distantly.
The sunlight hits the ocean with a thousand sparkles.
It twinkles at any and all who dare to see it.
It is something truly majestic.
And I think to myself—
to be in Costa Rica,
is to be at peace.
