Deeper
Deeper
Late in the night
Alone in the dark
Running deep into the shadows
No turning back
Hear voices behind me
Shouting words that fade in the distance
On a path that turns
It winds in such ways
I can only keep going forward
And let whatever happens, happen
I am alone on this journey
All others are lost
Nothing I can do but
Run deeper on this trail
Stop suddenly… no words
No sounds just silence
I wait
Wait to live wait to die
As I drift into my own silence
I realize the voice is within me.
