Nantucket Morning

December 8, 2009
The wind repels my face,
Sunlight breathes upon the horizon,
sky's summer to a brilliant blue.
and the morning clock seems to become infinite.
I sit in bed,
The window stares at me, open mouth:
Whistling sounds of the waves greeting the sand.
The seashells dance from the foam,
and the eternal ocean peeks its way to my eye.
the smell of soft cotton, welcomes its way around the house.
i am clothed, and meet the sand for the first time of the morning.
the alligator bites my chest,
and the pony dances its way around my shorts.
i stand alone, the sky absorbing my face,
my eyelids shut and i feel the stars hiding beyond a magical place,
as here, i am free.
to greet life in another perspective,
i stand on an island alone.
