Passing Of Maya
I try to breathe in
And my chest explodes with pain
I know this is my last day
My last few minutes
I try to look up at the faces towering over me
Tears begin to weld in their eyes
Their lips begin to tremble
I can almost see the break in their hart
I try to whimper
But the sound just refuses to escape my lungs
I feel determined to nudge them somehow
But I just am unable to reach
I try to move some part of me
Even if it’s just a small twitch
But I’m beginning to lose feeling everywhere
And my eye lids are growing heavy
I try to bark
Tell my master I love him
But when you’re a dog
And all you can do is watch them cry
As the light fades from your eyes
There is nothing you can do but let everything live its life
