She sprints down the field
Breathing ferociously
Only the goal on her mind
Drenched in sweat
She starts to aim
Right in between the goalies legs
Then the clock stops
Like a picture
Or a movie flickering on pause
Her legs are one
Head lacing itself together
On her feet only a metal pole
She lies on the side of the field
Wishing someone would
Put her back into the game
