Communicating with the
Doctor as if it were a
Life and death situation
I’m going to be the I.V.
That transfers blood into
The testing tube.

I’m going to be the one
Being together forever
With the man I love
With a golden ring on
My finger.

I’m going to be the one
Carrying an unborn in my womb.
I’m going to be the one
To help raise a family
Of smiles and giggles.

I’m going to be the one
Watching my child grow
Into a person of society.
I’m going to be the one
To cry my heart out
When my teenager
Cleans out his room.
I’m going to be the one
To watch my twenty
Year-old go to school,
One last time.

I’m going to be the one
Sitting back and relaxing
After many years of hard work.
I’m going to be the one,
Seeing new places,
And meeting new people
That I never knew before.

Asleep peacefully and
Never awake, for I
Know that I’ve lived
My life to its fullest.
