My warped heart is breaking,
Causing more cracks and distortion.
Dreadful pains of full fledged aching,
As it slowly fades to grey.

I try to patch the hole,
But it has grown too vast.
My heart absorbing malicious condole,
As it slowly melts away.

His actions morphed my empathy,
Into a field of emptiness and distress.
Hoping that his potent apathy in me,
Would slowly slip astray.

The author's comments:
I hope people get the feelings of absolute heartache, desperation, and depression intended to be felt in this piece. Also, for the reader to understand the less prominent feelings of unappreciated sympathy and hope that his feelings of indifference would be lost.
