Addison Circle Park

I drove by our park tonight,
with its soft blue lights.
Our path was waiting for us
under the water tower.
A family played frisbee
on the grass inside our circle.
He wasn't as good as you.

And as I drove by our park,
with its soft blue lights,
and our path waiting for us
under the water tower,
I smiled at the memory:
You, drawing me close to your side
as we strolled, hand in hand.
Then it was for warmth,
Now it's because,
the closer we are, the better.

And as I drove by our park,
with its soft blue lights,
and our path waiting patiently
under the water tower,
a sigh grew in my chest.
I didn't want to disappoint those blue lights
or our path.
But without you, there was no reason
to walk under the water tower.

I drove by our park tonight.
