"They say 'Life's two steps forward and one step back' - But what if I tripped and fell down the whole flight of stairs?"

I try, I've tried, I swear I'll try
I swear upon my very life
To this day and far on I'll say
My love for you won't go away
To live within a pact of lies
To die within the hurtful cries
I chose, I've chosen, I swear I'll choose
To play this game and never lose
For it becomes a match, death match may it be
As may end without life, unhappily
Destructing a foundation of love cannot break
Just assuming a destruction could possibly take
No is the answer I proudly will speak
Any objections I'll just turn the cheek.
I know, I've known, I swear I'll know
to never, no never, let you go.

Too much isn't enough.

Again, excellent piece! The triplets you use were a very good idea, and the rythm and rhymes are all perfect. Bravo!

Half of my free verse/sonnets/poems in general have song potential..but I completely fail at putting tone and a voice behind my lyrics. :/
