The impulses of our hearts
Electric
Valves snap shut
Lub-dub, lub-dub
Blood rushes out
The voltage
Controlling the pace
Steady and slow
Or slipping up, tripping up
My heart's in a handbag
Oh, the headaches
Override it
Specifically numb
And for this?

Exhaustion.

This poem is a mix-up of a lecture my biology teacher gave to us one day. This is my impression and interpretation of the heart, science vs. spiritual.
